The rainbow lorikeet is a medium sized member of the parrot family native to Australia, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. They feed on pollen, nectar, fruit, seeds and insects. They live in small, noisy groups and spend most of their time in the trees. Males and females have identical plumage and can live between 10 and 20 years.
