Surely the quintessentially British bird, the feisty little robin (Erithacus rubecula) delights us with a beautiful song all year round.

Star of many a Christmas card, male and female birds both have a bright red breast and will often fight to defend their territory.

Robins can appear quite tame, following gardeners around in the hope a tasty meal will be unearthed.

This original pencil drawing was drawn with Faber Castell Polychromos pencils on Clairefontaine Pastelmat paper and is mounted, ready to frame.
